Picture of Josée TourretteMy inspiration comes from a kind of fascination for the circle. Its perfect shape inspires a feeling of plenitude, harmony but also the movement through a space-time without beginning nor end. After painting portraits as well as fragile cocoons for a long time, spheres became my ultimate pattern. Some spectators see them as eyes, others as planets, atoms, cells, perles, etc. Personnaly, I see a shape opening my spirit to a world of dreams in which I can travel from the infinitely great to the infinitely little.

I proceed smoothly through imperceptible touches highlighting the lightness of the gesture. Using the tip of a knife, soft lines are usually engraved in a single momentum in the oil painting. recently, I started to experiment engraving, linocuts and drypoint. I can then draw and paint on these new surfaces and textures.

After studies in art college in Clermont-Ferrand and Rennes, I became an art professor and spent my professionnal life to teach all kind of artistic productions. Retired, I live now alternately between Auvergne and Marseille, where I can focus on my passion for drawing and painting.
